As member of the European Left, and founding member of the Antifascist International, I would like to affirm my strong support for the people of Venezuela and their elected representatives lead by President Nicolas Maduro.
We are living dark times with the desperate attempts of the imperialist and colonialist powers trying to cling to their privileges and control over the World. Their time has pass, and as they lose their influence and credibility in front of the rest of the World, more desperate they become. The acts of intimidation, aggression and crimes perpetrated by the United States against the sovereign people of Venezuela are showing to us all that they don’t even try anymore to hide their mockery towards democracy, human rights and international peace and cooperation. It is the naked emperor, disclosed of all its lies and empty words.
What else could we expect from these plutocracies driven by profiting on the others, and the source of the most cruel wars in the history of mankind, of the holocaust and genocides till this very day, happening just now in Palestine. After the ruin that the US has left in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and many other places, now this plutocracy is coming after the oil and resources that belong to the free people of Venezuela.
But these hard times also create strong leaders and it calls on them for acts of courage and inspiration for the others. Revolutionary leaders like Hugo Chavez, or Simon Bolivar have risen to lead the people in times of great challenges and perils. Now this great task has risen again for the people of Venezuela and their leaders, once more, to stand up where others wither, to be an inspiration of courage and justice to the rest of the world.
We stand with Venezuela!
